The press service of the Uzbek ministry said that the sides discussed current state and perspectives of bilateral cooperation.

It was underlined that the Uzbek-Italian relations have been developing in last 20 years since establishing of diplomatic relations. Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Italy increased and made up US$187.5 million in 2011.

Leading Italian companies, such as Incanto group S.r.l., Italcementi s.p.a., Itigroup s.r.l., Danieli&C.Officine Meccaniche SpA., are operating in Uzbek market. The sides also noted that they are interested in developing cooperation in tourism.

The activities of Turin Polytechnic University in Uzbekistan are bright evidence of cooperation in cultural-humanitarian sector.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on other issues of the Uzbek-Italian cooperation.
