It is planned to create a Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage of the Member States of the CIS

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a meeting of the CIS Executive Committee’s Working Group in Minsk, participants discussed the development of a draft Regulation on the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Dunyo reported citing the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth.

Within its framework, experts recognized the relevance and importance of the idea of developing cultural cooperation between the CIS countries in the virtual sphere and supported the initiative proposed by Uzbekistan to create a single Internet resource.

Having considered the draft concept of the Virtual Museum, developed by the Uzbek side, the working group noted the high degree of elaboration of the document. It was also noted the need for the introduction of sections that refer to specialized national Internet resources. At the same time, Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to develop and administer this platform.

It is worth noting that the initiative to create a Virtual Museum belongs to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The aim of the project is to combine the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the CIS member states under a single virtual museum on the Internet, where the most interesting cultural heritage sites will be presented.

It is planned that one of the main ways of visualizing museum objects will be virtual panoramas (3D panoramas, round panoramas, 360-degree photo panoramas) depicting cultural heritage objects, individual exhibits, exhibition stands, which a virtual visitor should pay attention to.

The leading form of presenting information will be a virtual tour, including animated objects, sound, multimedia elements. Such an excursion can be created on the basis of photographs taken during actual shooting, and simulated 3D space or a combination of both.
