Uzbekistan won three matches of the tie with participation of Istomin. Istomin defeated Kyu-Tae Im in straight sets 6/3, 6/2 and 6/4. Istomin paired with Farrukh Dustov to beat Kyu-Tae Im and Hyung-Taik Lee - 2/6, 6/2, 3/6, 6/3 and 6/4.

It should be mentioned that Farrukh Dustov lost the opening match to Hyung-Taik Lee 5/7, 6/7 and 4/6 to give the only point for South Korea in the tie.

Denis Istomin had to play all five sets to beat Hyung-Taik Lee on the third day of the tie. Istomin won the first set 6/3, but lost next 1/6. Uzbek player won third and fifth sets with the same score 6/3, while he lost fourth with the same score line.

In the last match of the tie, Murad Inoyatov defeated Yong-Kyu Lim 3/6, 6/1 and 6/3 to give Uzbekistan 4-1 victory.

In the next stage, Uzbekistan will face Japan, which defeated China 5-0. The tie will be held on 8-10 May and it will give the right to advance to the World Group playoffs.
