Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 August, a meeting was held on issues of ensuring the implementation of the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the revival and holding of the Tashkent International Film Festival" from 19 June 2021.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, was attended by the responsible heads of the relevant ministries and departments, local government bodies. The meeting devoted to the preparation process for the upcoming film festival also discussed the development of networks of national cinematography, film companies and cinemas.
The chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, deputy khokims of the regions on tourism, sports, culture, cultural heritage and mass communications also took part in the meeting online.
According to the resolution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Tashkent International Film Festival, starting from 2021, will be held annually from 28 September to 3 October by the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan under the name "Ipak yuli durdonasi".
For reference, the Tashkent Film Festival called the Asian, African and Latin American International Film Festival was organized by the State Committee of Cinematography and the Union of Filmmakers in May-June 1968-1997.
