Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting in London with the managing director for CIS markets of ICBC Standard Bank Vladimir Guber and his deputy Anna Abramenko, Dunyo news agency reported.
The bank’s management was informed about the large-scale financial and economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, including in the field of improving the banking system, ensuring financial and macroeconomic stability.
Vladimir Guber praised the ongoing reforms in recent years, noting that today Uzbekistan in the CIS is the most dynamic and promising direction for the bank’s activities. ICBC Standard Bank is ready to develop cooperation with Uzbek partners from among large banks and state-owned enterprises in the field of further opening new credit lines to support small and medium-sized businesses, training banking specialists.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the joint organization in 2022 of a number of presentation events for investment funds, large corporations and companies in the field of mining and energy to raise their awareness of new opportunities opening up in Uzbekistan, including within the framework of large-scale privatization of state assets.
