Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In preparation for the XXXII Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games in Japan, a videoconference meeting was held with the participation of the Secretary General of the NOC of Uzbekistan Oybek Kasimov and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo with representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, reports Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo.
From the Japanese side, representatives of the management and responsible employees of the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympics and the NOC of Japan participated.
During the negotiations, the organizational and technical issues of the preparation and participation of the Uzbek delegation in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 were discussed. It was noted that the rapid spread of the coronavirus pandemic at the beginning of the year led to the postponement of the Olympics and a change in the schedules of sporting events.
The Japanese side informed in detail that the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympics, together with the International Olympic Committee, is currently working on the schedules of visits for foreign guests and delegations of national Olympic committees to Japan. In working out organizational, technical and other issues, the Organizing Committee also interacts with various Japanese companies and organizations.
In this regard, the Japanese side noted that as the schedules of the Olympic Games are prepared, the NOC of Uzbekistan will be additionally informed.
The Uzbek side proposed to speed up the solution of a number of topical issues for the effective preparation of the participation of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan for the Tokyo Olympics. An exchange of views took place between representatives of the two countries regarding the solution of current issues.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the continuation of practical contacts for the timely resolution of organizational issues and interaction between the NOC RU and the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympics.
