Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 November 2023, a meeting of the Working Group on Cinematography of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held at the headquarters of the CIS.
Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the event via video conference. Guests of the Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” took part in the meeting as invitees. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting participants got acquainted with the results of the meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS Member States, which took place on 12 September 2023 in Bishkek, regarding the interaction of the CIS member states in the field of cinematography.
During the meeting, the possibilities of implementing the initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish a film festival with the awarding of a special prize within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States were discussed.
Considerable attention was paid to the issue of cooperation between film archives of the CIS member states and the mutual use of cinematic heritage.
A representative of the Belarusian side handed over to the Museum of the History of the Commonwealth of Independent States a special edition of the “Golden Dozen of Belarusfilm” - films included in the “Golden Collection of the CIS Countries”.
The working group on cinematography was formed by the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2012.
