Israeli cardio surgeons visit Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Israeli cardio surgeons arrived in Uzbekistan within the humanitarian cooperation between healthcare ministries of two countries. Bernardo Vidne, founder of cardiosurgery school in Israel, and Georgiy Frenkel, leading children cardio surgeon of Schnaider Hospital, visited Uzbekistan.

Within the visit, the doctors visited the Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan, National Specialized Center of Surgery named after Vahidov, National Scientific Center on emergency medical aid, Tashkent Medical Academy.

The guests got acquainted with current affairs of cardiosurgery and conditions, created for medical personnel. Israeli doctors are planning to return to Uzbekistan and help patients of the country with use of high technologies and new methods of operations on open heart.

Bernardo Vidne delivered several lections at Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and Tashkent Medical Academy. He showed video materials on new methods of operations. Doctor Frenkel carried out two operations on hearts of children, which served as master class for local surgeons.

Israeli doctors visited Samarkand and met students and teachers of Samarkand Medical Institute. They also delivered lectures on achievements of cardiosurgery and organization of cardiosurgery aid, adopted in Israel.

At the briefing at Israeli Embassy in Tashkent, the Uzbek and Israeli medical employees said there is need to develop cardiosurgery in Uzbekistan through training surgeons in Israel, inviting Israeli specialists to Uzbekistan, providing medical means to the Uzbek specialists.

The sides are planning to ink cooperation agreement between Medical Faculty of Tel-Aviv University, Schnaider Clinic and Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, as well as Samarkand Medical Institute. The agreement should strengthen medical cooperation between two countries and stimulate further improvement of cardiosurgery service in Uzbekistan.
