Welcoming the guest, the Uzbek President underlined contribution of the IWF and Tamas Ajan in development of the weightlifting and Olympic movement as a whole.

IWF President is visiting Uzbekistan within the IWF Youth World Championships, which will be held in Tashkent. The tournament is one of prestigious tournaments, which will give licenses to Youth Olympic Games in 2014.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on perspectives of development of weightlifting in Uzbekistan, further strengthening and expanding fruitful cooperation with the IWF, UzA reported.

Tamas Ajan underlined that weightlifting is one of the popular sports in Uzbekistan as local athletes are successfully participating in various international competitions.

The IWF President highly rates growing authority of Uzbekistan at international sport arena due to achievements and success of Uzbek athletes. He also highly rated organization of the IWF Youth World Championships.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov wished success to competitions and new sport achievements to athletes.
