Islam Karimov holds negotiations with Russian leader
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov held negotiations with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on 15 May 2012.

Vladimir Putin said that Uzbekistan and Russian accrued rich and great experience on intergovernmental relations during long-term joint works. He expressed his assurance that the sides can fully realize existing potential of cooperation between two states.

He said that Russia adequately rates potential of Uzbekistan on population, natural resources and economic potential.

Vladimir Putin said Russia will continue to consider Uzbekistan as one of key states in the region. He said that Russia will develop relations with Islam Karimov and the country. He said Uzbekistan and Russia are connected with long-term relations and based on this, the countries will advance forward.

In his turn, Islam Karimov congratulated Vladimir Putin with his victory in presidential relations and appointed as the Russian President. He also praised achievements and potential of Russia.

During the meeting, Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov considered issues of bilateral Russian-Uzbek cooperation.

The meeting was held within the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which taking place in Moscow.
