Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s women tennis legend Iroda Tulyaganova was elected as the Secretary General of Uzbekistan Tennis Federation.

“I thank the Tennis Federation, the chairman and secretary general for their confidence, because it was thanks to their leadership that I reached such high peaks in sports. They carried out a huge work aimed at the development of Uzbek tennis. I will do everything so that our team of athletes continues to develop,” Tulyaganova said.

Iroda Tulyaganova was born on 7 January 1982. She won several tournaments during her career, including junior Wimbledon. Her highest position in WTA ranking was 16.

She replaced Igor Shepelev, who worked as the Secretary General of Uzbekistan Tennis Federation for over 20 years.
