Ireland police specialist conducts training in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Academy of Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan hosted a workshop “Preparation of managing personal for interior affairs” on 31 May-2 June, which was organized at the support of the OSCE project coordinator in Uzbekistan.

International expert on police area, deputy director of National Police College of Ireland Ivon O’Conner conducted the seminar, which was directed at improving professional training managing cadres for interior bodies of Uzbekistan, studying international experience, etc.

Teachers of Interior Ministry’s Academy, other educational establishments of Interior Ministry, employees of HR services of Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan participated at the event.

Kevin Carty, OSCE’s Senior Police Adviser, said currently requirements to heads of police bodies are increasing. He said modern police officers should have deep knowledge and skills to adopt optimial managerial decisions.

During the event, Ivon O’Conner shared information on activity of National Police College of Ireland, tasks and main work methods. She paid special attention to the system on training police managers and college curriculum. O’Conner said the curriculum includes such topics as strategic management, innovative development, ethics, management of organizational integration, personnel training, negotiations strategy, leadership and others.

Participants considered character of management skills, formation of cadre reserves, selection process and appointment of officials. The special attention was paid to training of interior officers, fighting organized crime, investigation of crimes, protection of public order and others.
