Sports 03/07/2007 Iran, China, Uzbekistan Arriving From Wednesday

Teams from Iran, China and Uzbekistan are expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur from Wednesday for the Asian Cup Group C matches on 7-29 July, Bernama reported.

The teams will be staying at Prince Hotel here along with the Malaysian squad who are pitted in the same group, the tournament’s Logistics Committee chairman Hamidin Mohamad Amin told reporters.

He said the Iranian team would be the first to arrive on Wednesday followed by China on Thursday and Uzbekistan on Friday.

Hamidin said the teams would be having their training on a rotation basis at four fields decided by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Earlier, the teams were allotted one pitch each, namely the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, Kuala Lumpur Soccer Stadium in Cheras, Petaling Jaya City Stadium and the Football Association of Malaysia field in Kelana Jaya.

The Group C curtain-raiser will be between the national squad of Malaysia and China at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on 10 July.
