Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia organized the events in cooperation with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) at the assistance of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
Representatives of Uzbek and Malaysian businesses, MIDA, Businessmen and Industrialists Association of Malaysia, International Association of Businesswomen of Malaysia and Association of businesswomen of Uzbekistan participated at the events.
Executive Secretary of the ACCCIM Tan Sri Hugh Sung highly rated the events in developing trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia. He said that the Uzbek economy demonstrates high growth in the result of reforms and selection of own development model.
The participants of the business forum familiarized with priority directions of economy of Uzbekistan, achievements of the Uzbek model of reforms, as well as implementation of the state programme “The Year of Well-being and prosperity”.
Investment opportunities and preferences for foreign investors, create at Navoi free industrial and economic zone, Angren special industrial zone and Jizzakh special industrial zone, as well as legislative framework on guarantees of protection of investors and their capital.
During the event, the Uzbek side presented potential of the food industry, automobile industry, chemical sector, oil and gas industry, as well as localization programme.
Within the business forum, the businesses of Uzbekistan and Malaysia held a meeting to discuss cooperation in oil and gas, processing of agriculture products, electronics, mineral fertilizers, etc.
The delegation of Uzbekistan visited exhibition of Asian Mac Sdn. Bhd, production capacities of LCD and LED TV sets, etc.
