Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Agency for Cultural Heritage and the khokimiyat of Samarkand region organized an art exhibition "The Spirit of Samarkand, uniting creativity."

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that in preparation for the SCO summit, systematic work is being carried out to reflect the spirit of Samarkand in the creative works of art masters in the SCO space.

“These initiatives were promoted by the President of Uzbekistan: foreign artists, sculptors and photographers were invited to Samarkand as part of the SCO summit,” the minister said. — A number of events are being held, in particular, symposiums, plein airs, marathons. For several days, local and foreign artists reflect the spirit of Samarkand in their works. These events are widely covered in the media.”

Participants of the exhibition were awarded certificates and memorable prizes. In turn, foreign artists highly appreciated the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and unique impressions.

Talented and famous artists of the SCO member states, such as India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, were invited to Samarkand to participate in the international plein air and exhibition "The Spirit of Samarkand, uniting creativity." The best works of artists will be presented at the SCO summit in Samarkand in September 2022.
