The website reported that Uzbekistan introduced new rules, which requires vehicle owners to have fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and emergency marks. The report said that all these products should have corresponding certificates.
It added that if the drivers do not have certified fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and emergency marks, police officers fine them for 400,000 soums.
The report went to say that only three firms realize these products and the prices are between 136,000 soums to 350,000 soums. The website said that all these items can be purchased for 70,000 soums at ordinary shops.
Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan said that in line with traffic rules in Uzbekistan, all vehicles should have fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and emergency marks. At technical examination of cars and their registration, the officials will inspect existence of these products.
Ministry of Interior Affairs and State road traffic security service are controlling implementation of the legislation and rules of traffic security in line with their authorities.
Fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and emergency marks are realized at the shops and drugstores, markets and other trade objects of Uzbekistan. The prices for them are determined by producers and sellers, the Uzbek ministry said.
Ministry of Healthcare determines the content of the first-aid kit. Ministry of Interior Affairs said that these products will help to protect lives of drivers and passengers in accidents.
