Creation of favorable legislative and regulatory framework insured the rapid growth of the insurance market services in for last years. As of 1 January 2009, more than 30 insurance companies have been registered in Uzbekistan, providing wide range of insurance services in the areas of property, civil responsibility, entrepreneurial risks and others.

In the course of activities of insurance firms different types of economic-legal disputes arise. It is well known that in the modern world where the speed prevails in all spheres of life, ways of disputes resolution should also be efficient and economic. The reputation of companies, which run activities in the insurance market, is highly dependant on this.

Main goal of the roundtable was to familiarize managers and lawyers of insurance companies with arbitration system. Participants of the roundtable, representatives of the insurance companies, discussed distinctive features of economic disputes which arise in the activities of insurance companies and obtain necessary information related to arbitration courts. During the round table specialists of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uzagrosugurta insurance company and independent experts made presentations.

Event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in cooperation with State joint-stock insurance company Uzagrosugurta with support of State insurance supervision under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan and UNDP “Business Forum of Uzbekistan” project. Roundtable was attended by the managers and lawyers of the regional branches of State joint-stock insurance company Uzagrosugurta.

The organizers expect that such kind of meetings will help to increase awareness of the business community about arbitration courts, bring more cases to arbitration courts and improve settlement of disputes arising in the course of insurance activities.
