Insurance companies of Uzbekistan collect premiums for 338.48bn soums in 2013
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Insurance companies of Uzbekistan collected insurance premiums for 338.483 billion soums in January-December 2013, which grew by 32.1% year-on-year (256.313 billion soums in January-December 2012).

According to the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, the volume of collected premiums on voluntary insurance products made up 235.535 billion soums in 2013 (179.041 billion soums in 2012) and mandatory insurance products – 102.948 billion soums (77.298 billion soums). The growth rate made up 31.6% and 33.2% respectively.

At the same time, the volume of premiums on mandatory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners (MICLVO) rose by 31.5% to 62.198 billion soums and on mandatory insurance of civil liability of employers (MICLE) – by 31.9% to 25.19 billion soums.

In 2013, the insurance companies increased payouts by 53.4% year-on-year to 66.92 billion soums. The volume of payouts on voluntary insurance products reached 47.835 billion soums (+60.5%) and mandatory insurance – 19.084 billion soums (+38.1%). Payouts on MICLVO made up 8.316 billion soums (+28.9%) and MICLE – 7.745 billion soums (+53.9%).

Number of the active agreements rose by 9.2% to 6.104 million, of which 4.136 million (+2.8%) were on voluntary products and 1.968 million (+25.8%) – mandatory products. The insurance companies inked 1.774 million agreements on MICLVO (+16.2%) and 191,920 agreements on MICLE (+424.9%).

The insurance liabilities of the industry grew by 51% year-on-year to 161.58 trillion soums in the reporting period. The liabilities on voluntary insurance products exceeded 125.88 trillion soums (+53.6%) and mandatory products – 35.7 trillion soums (+42.3%). The volume of MICLE liabilities made up 11.37 trillion soums (+32.2%) and MICLE – 18.082 trillion soums (+41%).

The investment of the insurance companies exceeded 526.667 billion soums (+20.4%) in 2013, of which deposits were 237.922 billion soums (+19.1%), securities – 234.069 billion soums (+22.9%), loans – 4.946 billion soums (+9.5%), real estate – 19.199 billion soums (+20.9%). The insurance companies invested 26.337 billion soums to the charter capitals of other enterprises (+9.4%).

The aggregate capital of the insurance companies rose by 10.1% year-on-year to 287.3 billion soums. As of 1 January 2014, 35 companies worked in insurance market of Uzbekistan, of which four were insurance brokers.

Uzagrosugurta (61.653 billion soums, growth33.4%), Uzbekinvest (44.13 billion soums, +2.2%), Asia Inshurans (34.771 billion soums, +18%), Kafolat (31.137 billion soums, +49.7%) and Alfa Invest (20.762 billion soums, +88%) entered to Top-5 on collected insurance premiums in the reporting period.

Uzbekinvest (26.788 billion soums, +321.4%), Uzagrosugurta (8.378 billion soums, +9.3%), and Kafolat (6.351 billion soums, +157.8%) led on the volume of payouts in 2013.
