Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 23 July, an incident occurred in Samarkand region where several local residents attacked an inspector from the Department of Internal Affairs (OVD), according to the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
At approximately 17:30, a local resident called the 102 emergency service, reporting that unknown individuals had beaten him and damaged the windows of his Nexia-3 car. The inspector from the Akdarya District OVD arrived at the scene, detained the suspects, and took them to the police station.
During a conversation with the victim, a 35-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a woman aged 45-50 began shouting and causing a commotion. They claimed that the conversation should have started with them, as they had also called the police.
The inspector asked them to remain quiet and speak one at a time, but the offenders insulted him and left the room without explanation.
When the OVD officer attempted to stop them, the woman grabbed his clothing and verbally abused him, while the two men started beating him. Subsequently, all three suspects fled the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under paragraph "g" of part 3 of article 277 (Hooliganism with resistance to a representative of authority or public, performing duties to maintain public order).
The suspects have been detained in accordance with procedural law.
