Innovation to be brought to the women-led hospitality sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An international conference on the topic “Women of Central Asia in the hotel business: modern requirements and prospects” was held in Tashkent.

The forum was organized by the International Association “Tadbirkor Ayol” within the framework of a joint project with USAID for the development of entrepreneurship and business “Women in the hotel business: traditions of hospitality of the future.”

The project is a comprehensive program aimed at introducing innovations into the hotel sector, in the field of managing women using modern technologies and improving their skills through digitalization of business processes and employee training.

The conference was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee S. Niyazov, leaders and employees of the International Organization USAID, a number of international and partner government and non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and business women, business experts, the general public, and media representatives.

“The hotel business is of great importance for our region, whose tourism potential is growing every year. Today, there are a total of 1,348 hotels and service facilities operating in the country - hostels, motels, home hotels. More than 30 percent of them are headed by women,” S. Niyazov emphasized.

At the conference, topical issues of the development of the hotel sector, the quality of modern services provided to tourists in hotels in the context of their tourism potential, phased digitalization, the introduction of modern standards, and the development of regional international tourism were discussed. The necessary recommendations were developed, and an agreement was reached on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with representatives of the hotel business of neighboring countries.
