Indian tennis authorities named Paes as non-playing captain on Tuesday while announcing a five-player squad also featuring doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi, Prakash Amritraj, Rohan Bopanna and Somdev Varman.

The tie will be played in New Delhi from Feb. 8.

Paes was fighting to recover from a ligament tear. Teams have to name their final four players at least an hour before the draw, which will take place on Feb. 7.
