The charity football match was organized by Fund Forum, “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association and Center for Youth Initiatives “Kelajak Ovozi”. The match wrapped up a series of charity matches, which were held in regions of Uzbekistan from 27 March to 18 April.

Chairperson of Trustee Council of Fund Forum Gulnara Karimova kicked off the match, which was played between Uzbek celebrities and the members of Center for Youth Initiatives “Kelajak Ovozi”.

About 34,000 people came to Bunyodkor stadium to watch the match. The resources received from sales of tickets will be directed to fighting breast cancer, organizing free diagnosis of women in regions and purchase of medicaments to treatment of breast cancer.

The football match consisted of three games – two semifinals and a final. The first match was held between Kelajak Ovozi team and Tingir-Tingir team, which was consisted of musical groups like Zarba, Sahro, Arsenal, Ummon, Markaz, Benom, Mango and Fayoz. Kelajak Ovozi team won the match (5-4).

In the second match, team of actors, Hijolat, faced the match against singers team, Birruvchilar. The match ended with the draw and the winner was determined by penalty shootout. The actors’ team reached the final.

The final match also ended in draw and Kelajak Ovozi team won the match in penalty shootouts.

At the end of the match, Gulnara Karimov handed over check for 10 million soums to carry out programmes on fighting breast cancer. Teams, which played in football matches, also handed over 30 million soums to director of “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association.

Participants of the musical project Zo`r - Zo`r Star, Uzbek singers like Shakhzoda, Lola, Nilufar Usmanova and others presented their songs to participants.

Afterwards Uzbek football legends Birodar Abduraimov, Azamat Abduraimov, Mirjalol Kasimov and Igor Shkvirin handed over medals to players of the matches “In the Name of Life”. Gulnara Karimova presented cup to the winners.

The organizers said that over 163,000 people attended the charity matches, which were held in the regions of Uzbekistan. Number of marathon participants made up 59,000. Total number of the participants of the campaign exceeded 222,0000.

Last year, the charity football match “In the Name of Life” was held at Jar stadium with the capacity of 10,000. This year, the match was hosted at Bunyodkor stadium with capacity of about 35,000.

Last year, some 216 million soums were raised within the charity campaign “In the Name of Life” and used to treatment of women with breast cancer.
