Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In December 2024, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank held six meetings, addressing 37 various issues and making corresponding decisions.

Special attention was given to registration and licensing matters. Of the 27 topics considered, a significant portion focused on registering changes to the charter documents of credit organizations, with seven such issues raised.

Additionally, four applications for the registration of new microfinance organizations and seven requests for permission to hold shares in the statutory funds of credit institutions were reviewed.

The Committee also discussed the nominations for members of the supervisory boards, management boards of commercial banks, and key personnel, with seven issues included in the agenda.

During the meetings, the decision was made to exclude pawnshops owned by LLC NUR LOMBARD from the registry due to the cessation of their activities at the initiative of the founder.

Apart from registration and licensing issues, the Committee focused on analyzing the financial state of credit organizations, evaluating their compliance with the Central Bank’s instructions, and adherence to prudential standards. The results of inspections conducted in banks, microfinance institutions, and payment organizations were also reviewed.

Due to identified violations, nine banks, two pawnshops, and one microfinance organization received warnings about possible measures and sanctions.

The violations included non-compliance with the Central Bank’s instructions, deviations from prudential norms, and violations of legislation regarding foreign exchange and foreign trade operations.

For serious violations uncovered during inspections, the Central Bank imposed financial penalties on one bank, one pawnshop, and one microfinance organization.
