Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, a working group led by Ignatius de Bidegain conducted a presentation for employees of the Ministry of Economy and Finance on "Developing Wage Fund Management Capacity in Uzbekistan."
Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Abdulaziz Haydarov, attended the event.
The meeting emphasized that IMF representatives conducted a comprehensive analysis of employment and wage trends in the healthcare, education, and public service sectors in the country. The presentation included comparative tables showing the formation and payment of salaries to civil servants in Uzbekistan, as well as various allowances and bonuses compared with international practices.
It was noted that, given the significant share of budget expenditures on wages in healthcare and education, it is necessary to revise existing employment and wage-setting methodologies in these areas, drawing on the best international practices.
IMF experts also identified priority areas for developing wage fund management capacity in Uzbekistan and agreed to reflect these reforms in the "Strategy for Improving the Public Finance Management System of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025-2030," which is planned to be developed by the end of the year.
At the end of the meeting, it was announced that the working group would present a report on the results of their activities to improve wage fund management in Uzbekistan by the end of July of the current year.
