IFC, Swiss Government launch new project in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and the Swiss Government launched a three-year project “Azerbaijan-Central Asia Financial Markets Infrastructure Advisory Services Project”, presentation of which held in Tashkent on 3 December.

The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) allocated US$2.4 million to the project.

The aim of the ACAFI Project is to strengthen financial markets infrastructure in Azerbaijan and Central Asia by developing effective credit information sharing and introducing formal risk education and certification for financial institution employees.

The project will focus on improvement the legal and regulatory framework for credit information sharing and building the capacity of financial intermediaries to improve credit underwriting policies and practices.

It will also direct its efforts for building capacity of credit bureaus to better serve financial intermediaries, enhancing professional risk management certification by developing and introducing formal risk management education and certification programs and raising awareness about the role of credit bureaus and professional risk certification.
