ICT Ministry and Kaspersky Lab discuss cybersecurity issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 June 2020, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications jointly with Kaspersky Lab held an online conference on the topic “Cybersecurity of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Strategic Session”.

The conference was attended by specialists from ministries and departments on information security, technical directors of institutes, research units, operators and providers, as well as responsible persons - representatives of other business entities.

During the event, topical issues of information security in the public sector, industrial facilities and enterprises were discussed. Participants were presented with solutions and technologies in the field of cybersecurity, aimed at preventing threats, monitoring and supporting the complete safety of state facilities and structures.

- Today, Uzbekistan is an actively developing country in Central Asia. The digital transformation carried out in the republic in all areas of the economy is already yielding positive results at all levels of state and social development, emphasizes Evgeny Pitolin, managing director of Kaspersky Lab in Central Asia, the CIS and the Baltic States.

- Recently, much attention has been paid to information security issues by the state, caused by high penetration and implementation of digital technologies, and the growth of cyber threats. A steady trend has been formed for the creation of national operational centers for information security monitoring (SOC) to solve a number of tasks - identifying cyber threats, eliminating cyber-attacks and supporting the complete security of all government agencies. In this regard, cooperation is conducted with leading world companies in the field of developing systems for protecting against cyber-attacks and their experience in solving such problems is applied, says Bohadir Sultanov, head of the information security department of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.

In conclusion, the participants discussed existing solutions in the field of cybersecurity, as well as various training programs aimed at developing human resources in the field of information security and the subsequent construction of a unified security ecosystem.
