One of the largest banks of Uzbekistan received opportunity to supports its dynamical growth thanks to server equipment IBM Power System and IBM System x in combination of data storage system IBM System Storage and software IBM Tivoli.

Nigmat Kayumov, director of department of information technologies of Khalq Bank, said there was need to introduce reliable and intuitive information system, as well as purchase solutions for efficient processing growing data bases related to the bank’s activities.

He said that based on successful experience of use of IBM solutions, the bank decided to purchase power servers, data storage system and necessary software from IBM.

The bank decided to purchase two servers IBM Power Systems 570 under management of AIS operating system to optimal works of critically important systems and use all opportunities of technical support. The main and reserve centers were created in Tashkent city. Claster between these center was organized within help of software IBM Power HA.

Khalq Bank introduced 28 servers of IBM System x3550 model under Windows management to support daily work of its system. Two IBM System p5 servers with AIX operating system were installed to ensure work of Tivoli Storage Manager V5.3 for automatic work of reserve copying and intuitive management of database and application IBM Tivoli Monitoring V5.3 for supervision of IT environment of the bank and prevention of the problems.

Maksim Junusov, head of IBM office in Uzbekistan, said due to transfer of IT infrastructure to new level, Khalq Bank of Uzbekistan significantly improve productivity and accessibility of critically important system and data management, as well as supervise network conditions. Junusov added that IBM specialists are ready help the bank to develop its IT infrastructure.
