Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The number of HUMO cards has surpassed 30 million. This was reported by the company’s press service.

In light of this significant milestone, the HUMO system presented a gift of 30 million soums to Nadirjon Samiev from the Shafirkan district of the Bukhara region, the holder of the 30 millionth HUMO card.

The national payment system HUMO was established in September 2018 in response to a major disruption in the then sole processing center, Uzcard, which is a private entity.

This situation highlighted the need for a state processing center to ensure the security of the national payment system and prevent monopolistic dominance.

According to the Central Bank, as of March 1, 2024, there are over 47.17 million plastic cards in circulation in Uzbekistan. HUMO has reported that it has issued more than 23 million cards.

In the country, there are over 200,000 terminals for payments and more than 12,000 ATMs for cash withdrawals.
