Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has developed a draft law “On craft activities”. The draft law was published for discussion.

The project defines the concept of the “Usta-shogird” school, the rights and responsibilities of the master, the features of the activity, and the directions of handicraft.

The activities of the Hunarmand Association, its priority tasks and areas of activity are also defined.

The law contains sections on the National Directory and Register of Craftsmen working in the tourism sector, state support for craftsmen, the relationship between a master and an apprentice, as well as on the professional training of citizens who want to become craftsmen.

The project stipulates the creation of additional opportunities and conditions for craft activities, ensuring employment of the population by strengthening the raw material base, as well as ensuring the legal rights and interests of craftsmen.

The adoption of the bill will contribute to the further development of handicrafts, traditional folk crafts and applied arts.
