"How to make Central Asia a popular tourist destination after the pandemic?"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February, the heads of tourism associations of Central Asian countries will discuss the current situation in the industry and ways out of it in the format of a virtual round table. The topic of the online meeting is "How to make Central Asia a popular tourist destination after the pandemic?"

The discussion will be attended by the heads of associations of market participants:

Kazakhstan - Rashida Shaikenova, Kazakhstan Tourism Association, Director;

Kyrgyzstan - Sergey Glukhoverov, Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO), President;

Tajikistan - Asadsho Zoolshoev, Pamir Eco-Cultural Tourism Association, Executive Director;

Turkmenistan - Aina Matchimbaeva, founder of the travel company "Moonmotion";

Uzbekistan - Dilshojon Odilov, Tourism Development Association, Chairman.

The co-founders of the Samarkand Tourism Forum Mikhail Shamshidov and Ravshan Turakulov will be moderators.

“It is very important to be in close communication with colleagues from neighboring countries, since a tourist often comes to several stans at once, and not to one separate country. The pandemic also showed how sensitive and fragile our industry is. And only by uniting and sharing our successful experience, we will be able to make our region a popular destination again with our "chips", - noted the president of KATO Sergey Glukhoverov.

Within the framework of the round table, in addition to discussing a plan for overcoming the current situation, it is planned to develop a set of measures that will be recommended to the authorities of the Central Asian countries for the early recovery of the tourism sector in the region.

This event will be held in preparation for the upcoming Samarkand Tourism Forum (www.samarkandforum.com), the date of which will become known after the stabilization of the situation in the region and the world.

For reference: Samarkand Tourism Forum is an offline and online community of participants in the tourism market of the Silk Road countries, created and supported to improve the efficiency of all stakeholders and achieve joint tourism development goals in the Central Asian region.
