How did Donald Trump change world politics?

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Donald Trump’s foreign policy during the years of his presidency influenced the whole world. A number of issues have come to the fore, and communication at the diplomatic level has changed dramatically. The consequences can be serious. Running for the presidency of the United States in 2016, Donald Trump made it clear in just three words what his foreign policy would be: “America is first of all,” Deutsche Welle reports.

Since taking office, President Donald Trump has undermined international cooperation.

1) On the third day of his stay in the White House, he signed a decree on the withdrawal of the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Subsequently, Washington withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council and the Paris Climate Agreement.

2) The United States has often taken important political decisions unilaterally and contrary to international consensus. One example is their recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the transfer of the American embassy there.

3) Donald Trump actively criticized transatlantic relations, repeatedly questioned the value of alliances such as NATO, announced the withdrawal of some American troops from Germany, arguing that Berlin spends too little resources on defense.

4) Donald Trump’s course towards confrontation with China moved the Asian power into the center of world attention. From a trade war with Beijing by imposing duties, Donald Trump moved on to putting pressure on other countries to exclude the Chinese telecommunications concern Huawei from the process of creating a fifth-generation (5G) high-speed mobile network in these countries.

5) Trump’s Twitter diplomacy provoked international conflicts. The relationship between the United States and Iran is a prime example of this. Twitter posts on their own will not unleash conflict, but doing so can only make matters worse.

6) Another consequence of the four years of Donald Trump’s presidency: Donald Trump is not ready to discuss alleged violations of the law with autocratic rulers. For example, despite a significant amount of evidence of the probable involvement of the royal family of Saudi Arabia in the murder of journalist J. Khashoggi, Donald Trump promised his support to the Saudi authorities.
