Hi-Tech Bank introduces payment system of EMV standard
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Hi-Tech Bank private closed joint stock commercial bank in cooperation with the Single National Processing Center (UZKART) successfully introduced payment system of EMV standard on the base of SmartVista payment system of BPC Banking Technologies.

The bank said the microprocessor banking payment cards were issued on this base and POS-terminals were equipped with special software.

Currently, the POS-terminals of the bank are accepting both banking cards of DUET and new system.

Fast transfer to EMV standard will allow banks of Uzbekistan to create favourable conditions for clients and develop retail banking services.

UZKART is national payment system of Uzbekistan and currently it unites 28 banks of Uzbekistan. Transfer of UZKART to EMV standard will help to strengthen trust of the population to the system.

New system will allow also cut expenses of the bank to creation of processing centers, including purchase of software and system maintenance.

The banks will also have chance to introduce new services, such as SMS-banking, mobile banking and internet banking. It should also increase transactions volume and balance on accounts of population.

New system will allow to save time of population as they will not have to load money to cards and the resources on cards will be available in real-time mode. The system will also allow to increase security level.

Hi-Tech Bank said that it is planning to migrate existing clients from DUET system to SmartVista by the end of 2011. It is also planning to launch SMS and Internet banking services.
