Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Japan between the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, and the Chairman of the Japan Tourism Agency, Naoya Haraikawa.

During the meeting, the parties discussed practical issues of collaboration to increase tourism exchange between the two countries. They explored opportunities for developing direct flights between Uzbekistan and Japan, creating joint tourist routes, and exchanging experiences in tourism management.

As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached to conclude a Cooperation Agreement in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and Japan for 2025-2027. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation in cultural tourism, wellness tourism, ecological tourism, and tourism infrastructure.

The agreement includes plans for joint press tours for Japanese journalists, seminars to showcase Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, and presentations of Uzbek tourism products in the Japanese market.

Both parties expressed confidence that the development of tourism ties between Uzbekistan and Japan would lead to an increase in tourist flows to Uzbekistan, the creation of new jobs in the tourism sector, and an increase in tourism revenues.
