Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Following bilateral talks, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ceremoniously inaugurated branches of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration in Almaty and the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov in Chirchik.

The mutual opening of these branches further demonstrates the dynamically developing multifaceted relations between the two fraternal countries.

The educational institutions will train highly qualified specialists in sought-after technical fields.

The heads of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also attended the ceremony for the arrival of the first cargo train on the route “Xi’an – Khorgos – Almaty-Saryagash – Tashkent.”

The cargo train departed from the Kazakhstan-China terminal in Xi’an to the dry port “Khorgos,” where containers were transferred and sent via Kazakhstan’s railways through the Saryagash station to its final destination at the Tashkent station.

This route will reduce cargo transportation time, providing a significant boost to trade.
