Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in the international exhibition Green Week 2025 in Berlin, Germany.
As part of the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Akmal Kosimov met with Raimund Jehle, Head of the Europe and Central Asia Division at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening their partnership and implementing joint projects with FAO. Key topics included combating agricultural land degradation, improving environmental management, allocating grants for collaborative initiatives, and initiating practical work on establishing a seed bank for agricultural crops.
Raimund Jehle highlighted the success of the international forum held in Uzbekistan in 2024 and suggested organizing similar events in the country.
The parties agreed to support innovations in the agricultural sector in collaboration with FAO, advance national and regional projects, promote the development of new technologies, and leverage the expertise of leading international specialists.
The meeting concluded with the identification of strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation, support promising projects, and foster new initiatives.
