Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 19 November 2024, the Government of Uzbekistan resigned before the new composition of the Oliy Majlis.

As a reminder, on 27 October 2024, following parliamentary elections, the composition of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis was updated.

According to Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Article 7 of the Law "On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the Cabinet of Ministers is required to resign before the Oliy Majlis.

In this regard, on 19 November 2024, the acting Government, based on a relevant decision by the Cabinet of Ministers, resigned before the new composition of the Oliy Majlis.

At the same time, in accordance with a Decree by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the acting Cabinet of Ministers will continue its work until the formation of the new Government, in order to ensure continuity and the smooth functioning of the executive branch.
