Government approves order of shooting films in Uzbekistan by foreign companies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved a regulation on order of shooting films by foreign companies in territory of Uzbekistan.

The regulation sets order of shooting of films of Uzbekistan by foreign companies, the document said.

The regulation said that Uzbekkino National Agency is authorized body on issuing permission of shooting films in territory of Uzbekistan by foreign companies.

The document said that foreign companies, which are planning to shoot film in Uzbekistan, should submit documents two months prior the start of shooting. They should submit application, printed scenario in six copies in Uzbek or Russian with indicating episodes, which will be taken in Uzbekistan. They also should submit calendar and plan of shooting, copy of licenses for production of films and state duty, etc.

The regulation underlined that the agency cannot request other documents than indicated in the document.

Agency will consider application within a month and inform applicant on it decision in written form, the document said.

The agency can reject application if the scenario includes scenes promoting national, racial and ethnic, as well as religious hostility, distorting historic, cultural and traditional customs and traditions of people of Uzbekistan, promoting extremism, terrorism or cruelty and violence, pornography, etc.

The agency can also reject if the submitted documents include distorted information or the applicant failed to pay state duty.

The permission can be suspended if applicant violates scenario, which agreed with the agency, or the film shot at places, which was not agreed with the agency. The permission can be suspended if foreign company hires local company without license or the applicant failed to eliminate violations.

The agency is obliged to re-issue permission to the applicants, if they eliminated all violations, indicated by the agency.

The regulation said that permission is not needed if the film is shot in cooperation with local cinematographers with use of the state budget funds.
