Goalkeeper of Uzbekistan national team fails to pass doping test

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national football team goalkeeper Ignatiy Nesterov failed a doping test during performances at the AFC Asian Cup 2019, the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) said.

UFA noted that the analysis of the doping test taken from Nesterov at the Asian Cup, gave a positive result.

Ignaty Nesterov during a conversation with the doctors of the national team said that he had taken diet pills without permission and warning from the medical staff.

At the same time, Nesterov admitted his guilt, but noted that he did not know about the presence of prohibited substances in tablets.

UFA condemned the actions of Ignatiy Nesterov, but at the same time notes that the footballer deliberately did not accept the prohibited means, because he did not know that the tablet contains prohibited substances.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will decide on the fate of the goalkeeper of the national team of Uzbekistan.
