Ghana outplays US to reach quarterfinals

Ghana defeated the United States 2-1 after extra-time in Rustenberg to book spot in quarterfinals in the World Cup.
Kevin-Prince Boateng put the Black Stars ahead l on five minutes, but US equalized through Landon Donovan’s 62nd-minute penalty.
Strike of Asamoah Gyan gave another lead to Ghana in early stages of extra-time. Ghana held on at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium to qualify for the last eight for the first time in their history.
Ghana will face Uruguay in next stage.
