Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Eastern Committee of the German Economy (WCES), since mid-May, 13 Uzbek undergraduates have been undergoing a three-month internship at leading German companies.
The goal of the program is the transfer of know-how and the creation of new partner networks for the development of cooperation between businessmen of the two countries.
The partner for the project from the Uzbek side is the state fund "El-Yurt Umidi" under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the beginning of 2019, about 200 applications were received and over 80 interviews were conducted for internships in Germany. After a multi-stage selection, only 40 candidates were able to be selected for further consideration of their candidacies by German companies. Of these, 13 highly qualified Uzbek undergraduates in business administration, economics, engineering, information technology, law and accounting were selected to participate in internships in Germany by participating German companies.
From May to August 2019, they are doing internships in leading German companies and banks, including SAP SE, Commerzbank AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, Siemens AG, Knauf Engineering GmbH, Schmitz Cargobull AG, Ernst & Young Auditing GmbH, GP Günter Papenburg AG, Mangold Consulting GmbH and Rödl & Partner.
After a one-day introductory seminar in Tashkent in early April, all interns began to practice in Germany in mid-May. This internship program for Uzbekistan is the third educational project implemented under the auspices of the WCES in Eastern Europe.
