Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Germany kicked off their home Euro 2024 with a commanding victory over Scotland, finishing the match with a score of 5-1.
Florian Wirtz opened the score in the 10th minute. Just nine minutes later, Jamal Musiala doubled the lead for the German team. In first-half stoppage time, forward Kai Havertz converted a penalty, securing the third goal.
In the 68th minute, Niclas Füllkrug netted Germany’s fourth goal. However, in the 87th minute, central defender Antonio Rüdiger scored an own goal, granting Scotland a consolation goal. The rout was completed in the 90+3rd minute when Emre Can scored the hosts’ fifth goal.
This victory marks the largest win in Germany’s history at the European Championships.
