German tourists choose a tour to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Traditional resorts have lost their appeal to German tourists, and package tours are a thing of the past. Tourist fashion dictates its own rules, and a modern tourist organizes his vacation himself - he book tickets, hotels and excursions, Dunyo reports.

It is becoming more and more popular among Germans to spend holidays with health benefits. According to the BAT Advanced Research Foundation in Hamburg, about 70 percent of German tourists prefer this type of vacation, and excursions in various cities attract more than 60 percent of German residents. In this direction, the countries of the Great Silk Road are especially popular this year.

So, the blue domes of Samarkand and Bukhara, the ancient city located in the desert - Khiva, the rapidly growing capital - Tashkent attract tourists from all over the world. Uzbekistan among the countries of Central Asia was included in the list of 10 best regions, cities and countries for tourism in 2020 according to the Lonely Planet version.

In addition, German media giants, travel agencies and retailers are actively promoting Uzbekistan as a tourist destination. So, one of the largest socio-political publications with headquarters in the city of Hamburg, the Spiegel magazine published a colorfully illustrated advertising brochure on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.

The illustrated brochure is intended for a potential German tourist with a tour package, which includes a ten-day tourist route through the historic cities of the Silk Road - Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent.

“From ancient times, caravans traveled along the Great Silk Road through the fabulous oases of Khiva, the foothills of the endless Kyzylkum desert, the ancient cities of Bukhara and Samarkand. You have the opportunity to travel through the unknown, magical East and feel like in the tale of Scheherazade “Thousand and One Nights”. In addition to the famous eastern cities, ancient architectural monuments and sophisticated cuisine, the main wealth of Uzbekistan is people. Feel the spiritual oriental hospitality,” the authors note.

Spiegel Magazine has been published since the late 1940s and is part of the Bertelsmann Media Group. The magazine covers the main events of the political, economic, social life of Germany and foreign countries. Weekly circulation - more than 1 million copies. Since January 2020, the publication has been distributing an advertising brochure called "Usbekistan - Magische Seidenstraße" (Uzbekistan - the magic of the Silk Road).

It should be noted that in recent years, German tourists are more and more planning their holidays in Uzbekistan. According to statistics, the number of tourists from Germany to Uzbekistan increased 4 times and in 2019 amounted to about 30 thousand people. A special role is played by the introduction by our country of a 30-day visa-free regime for German citizens.
