Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Separate general plans will be developed for all 12 districts of Tashkent. This was stated by Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov in an interview with the Oʻzbekiston 24 television channel.
Recently, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a project for Tashkent’s general plan until 2045. The plan includes dividing the capital into three zones, increasing green spaces, and improving public transportation.
The mayor noted that the development of the general plan took two years, during which foreign specialists from Singapore, the United Kingdom, China, and other European countries were involved.
Following the presentation, the president emphasized the need for amendments. Once the general plan is approved, regulations will be established for all planned works. The president also suggested developing general plans for each district, taking into account the city’s needs, added the mayor of Tashkent.
Shavkat Umurzakov emphasized that architects, designers, and district mayors should study international experience to adhere to the rules that will be established within the framework of the general plan.
Furthermore, to prepare specialists in the long term, a Urban Planning Institute will be created under the Tashkent mayor’s office in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction.
"I am confident that it will help us train the necessary personnel," noted the mayor.
