Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian Gazprom plans to open its representative office in Uzbekistan.
At a meeting on 6 May, the Gazprom Board of Directors will consider the possibility of opening a representative office of the company in Uzbekistan.
In June 2023, Uzbekistan entered into a two-year gas purchase agreement with Gazprom, with a total daily supply volume of 9 million cubic meters, and an annual volume of almost 2.8 billion cubic meters.
Deliveries under this agreement began on 7 October 2023.
In addition, by 1 November 2025, Gazprom plans to begin supplying much larger volumes of gas to Central Asian countries through the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline, as well as to conclude medium-term fifteen-year contracts with Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in mid-2024.
In February 2024, it was also reported that the government of Uzbekistan plans to modernize the republic’s main gas system to increase gas imports from Russia by 3.5 times - from 9 million to 32 million cubic meters per day.
