Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has established a Futsal Federation to promote and develop the sport across the country. The founding meeting of the new organization took place on 25 December in Tashkent.
Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB Holding, was elected as the Federation’s President. Aziz Akbarjonov, Chairman of the Board of SQB Bank, was appointed Vice President.
“Our team has delivered unsatisfactory results in competitions, highlighting the urgent need to develop futsal and elevate it to a new level. This issue was thoroughly examined by the Uzbekistan Football Association,” noted Uzbekistan Football Association President Abdusalom Azizov.
The Federation will commence its activities in 2025, with its primary goals being the popularization of futsal in Uzbekistan, the creation of an effective training system for athletes, and the enhancement of the national championship’s standards.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan previously had a Futsal Association, founded in 2004, which was dissolved in 2017.
