Some 200 students were selected in the result of two stages of the programme and they were invited to interviews in the final stage.

In the result of interviews, the winners of the programme of stipends for gifted students will receive stipends each month within an academic year as addition to their main stipend. The winners of the programme on educational grants will get grants, which will be directed to pay their contracts. Fund Forum said that the winners will receive opportunity to get stipends and grants next academic year as well.

During the interview, the participants were invited to participate in various projects of Fund Forum and its partner organizations, Center for Youth Initiatives “Kelajak Ovozi”, in which they can use their skills and knowledge in practice.

The applications to the education programmes were received from 15 August to 5 September. The competition was open for students, who study on contract basis in one of universities of Uzbekistan.

The programme of stipends for gifted students has been conducted by Fund Forum and Mehr Nuri since 2006. Since its launch, over 7,100 students participated at the programme, and 617 of them won stipends. Some 117 students received extensions. Overall stipends for 268 million soums were issued.

The programme of educational grants has been launched in 2005 and some 612 people won grants. Some 314 winners received additional grants. Overall some, 9,700 people submitted applications to the programme and over 1.1 billion soums were issued to pay education of youth.
