Fund Forum and Cultural Development Fund of Egypt sign memorandum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In an effort to deepen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, the Cultural Development Fund under the Ministry of Culture of Egypt and the Fund Forum signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

For the purpose of implementing the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of Egypt and the Government of Uzbekistan signed in Cairo on November 6, 2003, the said Foundations initialed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at supporting and encouraging the development of cooperation in culture and arts.

Cooperation under the Memorandum will be implemented through the following: exchange of information and data related to issues of mutual interest; joint establishment of exhibitions, festivals, concerts, symposiums and other cultural activities or events; exchange of specialists and experts; and other concerted forms of cooperation.

The Fund Forum collaborates actively with its Egyptian partners. Since 2007, the Fund Forum, in conjunction with the Embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan and the Egyptian Cultural Centre, has organized Egyptian Culture Weeks which include exhibitions, concerts, lectures and contests featuring Egyptian musicians, artists, professors and scholars.

The Fund Forum was the first among public organizations of Uzbekistan became the official partner of UNESCO. In March 2007 Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two organizations. Also Memorandums of cooperation were signed with British Council, Swiss Cooperation Office in Uzbekistan, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Cristiano Ronaldo Foundation, Austrian Association of Retirees, China Association for the Advancement of International Friendship, National Museum of Korea, Nagoya State University, Moscow State Linguistic University and Samuel Eto`o Foundation. In 2010, the Fund Forum was granted Consultative Status with the ECOSOC to become the first public organization in Uzbekistan to receive such a status.
