During the visit, the French envoy held a working visit with the deputy regional governor Jumagaldiev and the governor of the city.

The sides discussed issues of economic development, improvement of infrastructure (water and energy resources), as well as cultural promotion of the region, which is specialized mainly in agriculture sector.

The region also has Khiva city, which is included to world heritage list and visited by many French tourists. After the meeting the sides paid visit to new theatre of Urgench, special school No. 9, which will teach French language in new academic year.

In Kishkupir international school, French Ambassador opened regional seminar dedicated to teaching of French language. Over hundreds of French teachers participated at the event.
