Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 January, a delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Sodik Safayev, arrived in Shymkent, Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the visit, the delegation members took part in the fourth meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting highlighted that in recent years, thanks to an open, mutually trusting dialogue and the strong political will of the leaders of both countries, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has been developing in all areas based on the principles of friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance.
The meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of sincerity and trust, discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral multifaceted partnership, including in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
A proposal to enhance the effectiveness of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission between the Senates of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was also discussed, including the organization of the 5th meeting of the Commission and the signing of a new "Roadmap" between the parliaments of the two countries.
At the conclusion of the event, the participants expressed confidence that the cooperation would continue to develop constructively, based on the principles of respect and mutual consideration of interests. It was also agreed to further activate inter-parliamentary dialogue.
An agreement was reached to hold the 5th meeting of the Commission in Uzbekistan in the second half of this year.
