Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On measures to organize the activities of colleges of the Olympic reserve”.
The resolution was adopted in accordance with the Presidential Decree from 4 December 2019 No. UP-5887 "On measures to raise football to a completely new stage in the development of football in Uzbekistan."
The document instructed on the basis of specialized boarding schools of the Olympic reserve in the system of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports to create colleges of the Olympic reserve and organize their activities from the 2020/2021 academic year.
It determined that:
education in colleges of the Olympic reserve is carried out in two stages: general secondary education (VII-XI grades) and secondary vocational education (one-year education after the XI grade);
the main activity of colleges is the preparation of qualified specialists in the field of physical education and sports, as well as a reserve for the formation of national teams in Olympic sports;
the contingent of colleges by sports is approved by the state commission for admission to study at educational institutions of Uzbekistan;
colleges are funded from the republican budget of Uzbekistan;
starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, at the stage of secondary vocational education of colleges of the Olympic reserve, football departments will be organized, and they will train (except for athletes) specialists in this sport.
The resolution approved the provisions on:
College of the Olympic Reserve;
the procedure for admitting students to colleges of the Olympic reserve, conducting their certification and transferring studies;
the procedure for payment by parents to partially cover the cost of providing food;
the procedure for remuneration of individual college staff.
The document also stipulates a typical staffing table for managerial, technical, service and educational support staff of Olympic reserve colleges and daily nutritional norms for students of Olympic reserve colleges.
The relevant ministries were instructed to develop curricula and programs until the 2020/2021 academic year.
The resolution also gave instructions for the preparation of buildings and structures of colleges of the Olympic reserve, their equipping with the necessary equipment and sports equipment, etc.
The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports was entrusted with the following within two months:
approve the model charter of Olympic reserve colleges;
to take measures to fill the colleges of the Olympic reserve with qualified teaching personnel and coaches who possess modern educational technologies.
The document was published in the state language in the National Legislation Database and entered into force on 13 July 2020.
